Meet Our SRH Champion!

Tsepo Ndebele, a 24-year-old final-year Sociology student at Lupane State University, embodies a fervent commitment to social justice and equality. Her dedication stems from a profound belief in the inherent dignity of every individual, advocating for fair treatment and equal opportunities for all. Tsepo’s work is firmly rooted in dismantling systemic inequalities and fostering a more just society.

A significant focus of Tsepo’s advocacy lies in the realm of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). Recognizing the fundamental importance of bodily autonomy and integrity, she collaborates with organizations dedicated to ensuring access to SRHR services. Her efforts are particularly directed towards addressing the SRHR needs of young people, marginalized communities, and vulnerable individuals, especially within university campuses and broader society. Tsepo’s advocacy underscores the pressing need to make SRHR services genuinely accessible to all, irrespective of sexuality, age, or socioeconomic status.

Tsepo emphasizes that discriminatory environments continue to deter many, particularly young women and gender-diverse individuals, from seeking care at clinics and formal health facilities. This forces them to resort to unsafe alternatives, often with devastating consequences. The recent tragic death of a 14-year-old due to an unsafe abortion serves as a stark reminder of how inaccessibility and stigma can transform preventable situations into fatal ones.

This reality fuels Tsepo’s determination to advocate for a world where access to SRHR is not a privilege but a protected, affirmed, and realized right for everyone. Her work exemplifies the power of individual commitment in driving meaningful change and advancing a more equitable future for all.
