My Age Africa recently concluded a highly impactful two-day training program designed for influencers and content creators. This targeted initiative focused on integrating Value Clarification and Attitude Transformation (VCAT) principles with practical skills in content creation and digital safety.
The training program addressed a critical need within the influencer landscape: the ability to navigate sensitive topics related to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) with nuance, responsibility, and ethical considerations.
Participants were guided through a process of critically examining their own beliefs and understanding controversial SRHR issues from a rights-based and evidence-informed perspective.
A key objective was to equip influencers with the tools to create strategic, ethical, and safe content. This included fostering positive narratives around women, young people, and society, while also providing strategies to minimize potential backlash and personal risk associated with addressing complex social issues online.
By combining VCAT methodologies with practical content creation techniques, the program empowered influencers and content creators to become effective advocates for positive change within their communities.
The training aim to contribute to a more informed and responsible online environment, fostering constructive dialogue and promoting well-being.
