A Decade of Impact: My Age Africa Celebrates a Milestone Anniversary!!

On September 19th, 2025, My Age Africa, formerly known as My Age Zimbabwe, commemorated its tenth anniversary of impactful youth leadership. The event, themed “Celebrating a Decade of Impact Leading with Youth,” marked a significant transition and reflected the organization’s expanded scope across the African continent.

Founded fourteen years prior, My Age has dedicated itself to empowering young people and fostering their leadership potential. The anniversary celebrations provided an opportunity to reflect on the organization’s journey and reaffirm its commitment to its core mission.

A highlight of the commemorations was the launch of “A Call to Youth Leadership,” a book authored by My Age Director Onward Gibson. This publication serves as a testament to the organization’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of leaders.

In addition to the book launch, an awards ceremony was held to honor the contributions of former employees, donors, stakeholders, and partners who have played a vital role in My Age’s success. Their unwavering support has been instrumental in enabling the organization to achieve its goals and make a tangible difference in the lives of young people.

The anniversary also saw the unveiling of My Age Africa’s new strategy, “Leading with Youth,” built upon five core pillars. This strategic framework will guide the organization’s work in the years to come, ensuring that it remains at the forefront of youth development and leadership initiatives. To further capture the organization’s journey and impact, a documentary film was premiered, showcasing the story of My Age and the lives it has touched.

My Age Africa extends its gratitude to its development partners, dedicated staff, and, most importantly, the young people it serves. Their collective efforts have made the past decade a resounding success, and the organization looks forward to continuing its work in empowering young people across Africa.
