Strengthening community engagement!

On July 10th and 11th, 2025, My Age Zimbabwe, represented by Obedience Mazenge, attended the Linking and Learning Summit, organized by ViiV Healthcare. The initiative, held in Uganda, convened partner organizations from Uganda, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Zambia, and Lesotho.

The program facilitated a collaborative environment where participants presented their respective interventions, exchanged best practices, and deliberated on the impact of their work. My Age Zimbabwe, in partnership with the Development Agenda for Girls and Women in Africa (DAWA), showcased their joint intervention: “Connecting Adolescent Girls and Young Women for HIV Prevention in Masvingo Urban and Mwenezi Rural District.”

Furthermore, My Age Zimbabwe highlighted its promising practice of self-care clubs. These clubs are instrumental in the dissemination of accurate HIV prevention information, thereby expanding the reach of crucial knowledge. Serving as a pivotal strategy, these clubs contribute significantly to the development of youth-led movements focused on combination HIV prevention.

The self-care club approach garnered positive attention from fellow partners, many of whom shared similar intervention models.

This exchange facilitated a valuable opportunity for reflection and refinement of My Age Zimbabwe’s existing model. The Linking and Learning Initiative proved to be a beneficial platform for strengthening community engagement, resource mobilization, sustainability, and the adaptation of strategies for enhanced impact.
