My Age Africa participated in a high-level global health funding mechanisms workshop, marking a strategic step in our engagement with the Grant Cycle 8 (GC8) application process. This workshop provided a valuable platform for contributing to critical discussions surrounding HIV prevention priorities.
Our organisation is dedicated to ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of HIV prevention initiatives. As such, our primary focus within the GC8 framework is to advocate for a comprehensive HIV prevention package that is meticulously costed, features population-prioritised targets, and achieves coverage levels consistent with established epidemic control thresholds. We believe that a data-driven and targeted approach is essential for maximising the impact of available resources and accelerating progress towards epidemic control.
Furthermore, My Age Africa is actively involved in shaping national health strategies and the Zimbabwe National HIV and AIDS Strategic Plan (ZNASP). These processes directly inform the country’s Global Fund GC8 submission, providing an avenue for us to integrate our expertise and priorities into national-level planning.
By contributing to the ZNASP and national health strategy formulation, we aim to ensure that the Global Fund’s investments align with Zimbabwe’s specific needs and priorities in the fight against HIV/AIDS. We are committed to working collaboratively with stakeholders to create a robust and impactful GC8 submission that will contribute significantly to the ongoing efforts to combat HIV/AIDS in Zimbabwe.
